Comment by Fred Frazier Jr. on August 19, 2009 at 1:17pm - I wanted everybody who was a panther football player that Coach Jackson died on Monday August 17, 2009. He was a coach at Maplewood beginning in 1974 - 1980(I think). I know that he was a defensive line coach from 1974 - 1978 for sure. According to the dealth notice, He will be instate on Thursday August 20th from 5 p.m to 8 p.m. at Payne Chapel A.M.E. Church; 212 Neil Ave - Nashville. The funeral will be held at Payne Chapel on Friday August 21, 2009 at 12 Noon following a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. For all who can attend please do so! I know as a football player and student, Coach Jackson mad an impact on our lives - He was the ONLY African American football coach during that time frame.
